
What is Extended Reality (XR)?
XR is an umbrella term that encompasses various immersive technologies that blend the physical world with the digital world. It includes:

Virtual Reality (VR) – A fully immersive experience where the user is completely immersed in a digital environment, typically using a headset and sometimes additional equipment like Haptic feedback gloves, body suits or full motion controllers.

Augmented Reality (AR) – Enhances the real world by overlaying digital elements, like images, sounds, or information, on top of the physical environment. AR is typically used on mobile devices or through smart glasses (e.g., Ray Ban Meta, Meta Quest 3, Pokémon GO, Snapchat filters).

Mixed Reality (MR) – A combination of VR and AR, where virtual objects interact with the real world in real-time. MR allows for more interaction between the digital and physical worlds (e.g., Magic Leap 2, Microsoft HoloLens 2).
